What are we doing?
Due to a number format change being implemented by the National Telecommunications Commission of the Republic of the Philippines we will be updating the number format for area code '2' (Manila) from 7 digits to 8 digits. The carriers operating in this local exchange area will be assigned a code, which will be affixed at the beginning of the 3 digit exchange code. All Fuze carriers have been assigned code 8, meaning all numbers formatted as +63-2-XXX-XXXX are scheduled to be changed to +63-2-8-XXX-XXXX.

For more details please reference the official notification: http://ntc.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2019/MC/PUBLIC_ADVISORY_orig.pdf

Why are we doing this?
To comply with local telecommunications regulations and ensure service reliability.

When are we doing this?
Start: Sat, October 5 16:00 UTC
End: Sat, October 5 23:00 UTC

How will you be affected?
During this time, all affected active and inactive Manila numbers in the Fuze network will be migrated to the new number format. Calls made to Manila numbers both internal and external to the Fuze network may fail during this process.

Once the work is completed all registered handsets will be automatically rebooted during a period of inactivity to update directory functionality. Softbound profile devices that are not logged in at this time will need to be manually rebooted before logging in. Softphone users will need to restart their clients by exiting and relaunching Fuze Desktop.

What happens if it doesn't go as planned?
Maintenance will be reverted and Fuze will work with our partners and carriers in the region to ensure a complete transition to the new number format.

What to do if you have questions or problems?
For any issues experienced post-maintenance please be sure to reboot handsets and fully exit & relaunch Fuze Desktop as a first step. In the event you are still experiencing issues, raise a Priority 1 case for Support assistance.
